The confirmation was released on the company’s official Telegram channel, which also reported that the missile underwent a modernization process over the past two years. The upgrades were said to be based on experience gained from its combat use in the large-scale war against Ukraine.
However, Kalashnikov did not specify which improvements were introduced in the latest version of the Vikhr-1.

Company representatives also revealed that Russia received a major export contract related to the missile, although they did not provide additional information about the purchasing country or the quantities involved.
Ka-52 remains the main launch platform
The primary carriers of the Vikhr-1 missile are the Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopters, widely used to neutralize fortified positions, defensive structures and modern armored vehicles.

The Vikhr-1 uses a laser-guidance system, has a range of up to 10 km and 800 mm armor penetration, enabling it to engage tanks and heavily protected vehicles.
